Description:
Obverse
The coin is dedicated to Kharkiv National University, one of the leading centres of education and science. The university was founded in 1804 on the initiative of an outstanding enlightener V.N.Karazin and for about 200 years it has embodied man's striving for knowledge and winning ofscientific summits.
On the coin obverse there is a symbolic depiction of of the Solar system as a part of the Universe, which contains a "knowledge planet", above it and to the right, there is a semicircular inscription: above to the left - the small State Emblem of Ukraine, inscriptions – and the Mint logo of the National bank of Ukraine.
Reverse
On the coin reverse at the upper part of the coin field, the modern building of the university is depicted,at the coin lower part there is a mirror image of the old building of the university and a circular inscription
