On the coin obverse above there is depicted the small National Emblem of Ukraine (above, on the right), in the centre there are the Academy emblem and semicircular inscriptions: УКРАЇНА 2004 (Ukraine/ 2004) (left), 2 ГРИВНІ (2 hryvnia) (beneath, on the right) and the NBU Mint logotype.
Reverse
On the coin reverse there is depicted the academy's building and the inscriptions around the coin circumference - НАЦІОНАЛЬНА ЮРИДИЧНА АКАДЕМІЯ УКРАЇНИ ІМ. ЯРОСЛАВА МУДРОГО; (the Yaroslav the Wise National Law Academy of Ukraine) underneath the building depiction there is the two-lined inscription - 200 РОКІВ (200 Years)
