Obverse
On the obverse of the coin there are depicted: the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular inscription НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) above, the map of Europe with the inscriptions КИЇВ (Kyiv) and WARSZAWA (Warsaw) against the background whereof there is the holographic image of the official UEFA Euro 2012 logo with the inscriptions thereunder UEFA/EURO 2012TM/POLAND-UKRAINE; to the left listed are the years of the previous European Football Championships starting from 1960; to the right there are the coin face value and issue year 20/ГРИВЕНЬ/2011 (20/hryvnias/2011).
Reverse
On the coin reverse there is a conventionalized composition - the Olympic Stadium where the tournament final is to take place with the numerals 2012, against the background whereof there are figurines of football players in motion; under the composition there is the inscription ФІНАЛЬНИЙ ТУРНІР ЧЕМПІОНАТУ ЄВРОПИ / З ФУТБОЛУ / 2012р. (Final tournament of the championship of Europe / of football / 2012 year); above there is the Coat of Arms of Kyiv.
