Description:
Obverse
The coin is dedicated to the the hundredth anniversary of ice hockey in Ukraine. The date of publication of the Official Ice Hockey Rules in Ukrainian under the editorship of I. Boberskyi in 1910 has been chosen the terminus a quo for the ice hockey history in Ukraine. At that date the ice hockey was one of the most popular winter sports in Lviv.
On the coin obverse there are depicted the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular inscription (National Bank of Ukraine) above, the goaltender and interlacing of the geometrical lines representing the skate tracings, which makes the composition more dynamic; the coin face value and issue year - (2 hryvni) are indicated below.
Reverse
On the coin reverse there are depicted: in the foreground an ice-hockey player of nowadays, in the background – the players of the 20th century beginning against the background of conventionalized towers of Lviv where the first hockey matches took place.
