Obverse
The original emblem of the Republic of Cyprus, which coincides with the emblem of the Central Bank of Cyprus, the words "ΚΥΠΡΟΣ", "CYPRUS" and "KIBRIS" and the years "«1963 - 2013»".
Reverse
A composition depicting a young girl holding an olive branch with fruit, symbolising hope for the new period following the fifty years contribution of the Central Bank of Cyprus to the Cypriot economy. In the background the alternating symbols of the Cyprus pound and the euro refer to the official currency during the fifty year period. The coin’s nominal value of €5 is also depicted and there is circular inscription of the phrase «ΚΕΝΤΡΙΚΗ ΤΡΑΠΕΖΑ ΤΗΣ ΚΥΠΡΟΥ 50 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ».
