On the obverse of both coins there is a composition within the necklace circlet, which embodies the idea of Ukraine's integrity: the Small National Emblem of Ukraine is enframed in a vegetative ornament and held up by a lion and a Cossack with a musket; there is a circumscription: on the German silver coin - НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ/ БАНК/ УКРАЇНИ/ 5/ ГРИВЕНЬ/ 2006 (The National Bank of Ukraine /5 Hrivnias /2006).
Reverse
On the reverse of both coins in the nacklace circlet against the background of the map of Ukraine there is the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the circumferential legend: УКРАЇНА/ 15 РОКІВ НЕЗАЛЕЖНОСТІ (Ukraine / 15 Years of independence).
