Obverse
On the coin obverse in the center of the circle made of a string of beads there is depicted the small National Emblem of Ukraine within an allegoric composition of the sun, a conventionalized wing, birds and stars that symbolize the dream of mankind to reach outer space. There are the following inscriptions:УКРАЇНА, 2002, 5, ГРИВЕНЬ, (Ukraine/ 5/ hryvnia/ 2002)
Reverse
On the coin reverse there is represented a super heavy aircraft over a runway encircled with the inscriptions: ЛІТАКИ УКРАЇНИ (aircraft's of Ukraine) (above) and АН-225 'МРІЯ' (AN-225 'Mria') (beneath); the АН (AN) logotype being between the latter inscription.
