Description:
Obverse
On the obverse of the coin there are depicted: the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular inscription НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) above, the map of Europe with the inscriptions КИЇВ (Kyiv) and WARSZAWA (Warsaw) against the background whereof there is the enameled image of the official UEFA Euro 2012 logo in colour; under the map there is indicated the coin face value 500/ГРИВЕНЬ (500/hryvnias); along the coin circumference there are depicted silhouettes of architectural monuments of the cities, where the final tournament matches are to take place, and figurines of football players together with indication of the match dates.
Reverse
On the coin reverse there is a conventionalized composition of the football match: in the foreground there is depicted a figurine of a football player with the ball in motion; in the background - figurines of two players and goalkeeper's silhouette; there are the legends: ФІНАЛЬНИЙ ТУРНІР (final tournament) above to the left and ЧЕМПІОНАТ/ЄВРОПИ /З ФУТБОЛУ/2012 р. (Championship / of Europe / of football / 2012 year) below to the right.
