On the coin obverse within the circle of beads there is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine, above it - 2009 (the coin issue year), on the left Au 999,9 (coin metal and its fineness) and on the right - the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint and the coin weight in fineness - 1,24; between the circle and the coin edge there are the semicircular legends: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) above and 2 ГРИВНІ (2 hryvnias) underneath.
Reverse
On the coin reverse there is depicted a turtle and are the bow-shaped inscriptions: ЧЕРЕПАХА (Turtle) above and TESTUDINES beneath.
