In the middle, the portrait of Queen Marie wearing her crown at the coronation in Alba Iulia, to the left and to the right, the years “1875” – her birth year and “2010” – the year of issue of the coin; beneath the portrait, “REGINA MARIA A ROMANIEI MARI” (Queen Marie of Greater Romania) inscribed in an arc.
