Three main elements: the Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza's bust, one of the Prince's emblems and the University building; the inscriptions "UNIVERSITATEA DIN BUCURESTI" and "140 ANI" are circularly engraved on the upper part of the coin; below the image of the University building, the inscription "INTEMEIATA LA 1864 DE AL. IOAN CUZA".
