Liberty bust right, wearing a liberty cap, and a ribbon inscribed "LIBERTY" going from hair across neck. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" at rim above, and the motto on a ribbon, is at the rim below.

Reverse

Large "50" above CENTS" in center within a wreath of oak and laurel (initial "B" in wreath). "STANDARD SILVER," two stars, and date at rim.
