Above there is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular inscription НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ / БАНК / УКРАЇНИ (National / Bank / of Ukraine) and the coin issue year indication 2014 thereunder to the right; lower there is the conventionalized composition: on the motion picture film there are the pictures from the movies "Earth", "Chronicle of Flaming Years" and "Zvenyhora"; beneath there is the coin face value 20 ГРИВЕНЬ (20 hryvnias).
Reverse
There are represented: Oleksandr Dovzhenko's portrait (to the left); the diagonal inscription ОЛЕКСАНДР ДОВЖЕНКО (Oleksandr Dovzhenko); to the right, against the background of the motion picture film, there are indicated the years of his life 1894/1956; above there are the conventionalized images of the birds embodying the poetic fancies of the artist.
