Obverse
On the coin obverse a semi abstract heart with vessels is depicted against the background of a circle with the circumscription - ІНСТИТУТ КАРДІОЛОГІЇ ІМЕНІ М.Д.СТРАЖЕСКА (M.D.Strazhesko Institute for Cardiology), above there is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine, to the right there is the semicircular inscription: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine; beneath - 2 ГРИВНІ 2006 (2 hryvnias 2006), as well as the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint; to the left there is a vertically oriented composition of drops and names of the medical science sections.
Reverse
On the coin reverse M.D.Strazhesko is portrayed, to the left there are the vertical three line inscriptions: 1876 – 1952/ АКАДЕМІК/ М.Д.СТРАЖЕСКО (1876 – 1952/ Academician/ M.D.Strazhesko).
