This coin of 400 euros of face value, reproduces in its obverse the picture "Caballero Anciano" (Elder Gentleman), of El Greco, that is conserved in the National Museum of the Prado, in Madrid.
Reverse
The reverse reproduces a detail of the painting "El Martirio de San Mauricio" (The Martyrdom of Saint Maurice), by El Greco, which is preserved in the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial.
