On the back is the portrait of the samurai Hasekura Tsunenaga, ambassador in this mission, praying before a crucifix, according to the painting that is preserved in the Museum of the City of Sendai (Japan). On the left, a figure that contains the flags of Japan and Spain in the form of a latent image; above, a boat, symbolizing the trip to Spain through the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean.
