In the middle of the coin is portrait of HRH Queen Mother. Above the portrait is inscription "THE CENTENARY OF HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH THE QUEEN MOTHER" and under is inscription "1900-2000" Portrait is surrounded by two pairs of trumpets joined by a musical scale and notes and entwined at the base by two rose garlands.
