In the center of the obverse are the portraits of seven war hero's who lost their lives at the war of 1971. These hero's were presented by the title of Bir Sreshtho (The Most Valiant Hero) which is the highest Gallantry Award presented by Bangladesh Government.
Reverse
In centre of the reverse is the picture of National Martyrs' Memorial located at Savar, Dhaka.This National monument of Bangladesh is the symbol in the memory of the valor and the sacrifice of all those who gave their lives in the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, which brought independence and separated Bangladesh from Pakistan.
