The eagle holds a sceptre in his dexter talon and an orb in the sinister talon. Upon its breast on a shield - a knight in the cloak sitting on the horseback slaying a dragon toppled over and trampled by the horse), above - the semicircular inscription along the rim: "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION) framed on both sides by ornamental elements of doubled rhombuses, inscriptions in the lower part of the disc, to the left of the heraldic eagle - indicating the precious metal and its fineness, to the right - indicating the fine metal content and the mint trade mark, on bottom at the edge - inscription: "50 РУБЛЕЙ" (50 RUBLES) and the date: "2014 г." (2014) under it.
Reverse
In the centre of the matted disc - the relief image of four sportsmen in a bob-luge driving down the track, which is framed by snow-drifts at both sides. In the background - the distant mountains, below - five Olympic rings, under them at the rim - the inscription made by the technique "proof": "СОЧИ 2014" (SOCHI 2014).
