Obverse
In the centre – the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it – the semicircular inscription "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim – on top: "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES), below: to the left – indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre – the year of issue "2015 г." (2015), to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
In the centre on the mirror section of the disc – relief images of a polar bear with a cud, to the right of them below – image of a hippopotamus, on the matted zone along the rim at left and above – images of the entrance to the Zoo and its habitants: a monkey, an elephant, a giraffe, two birds, a moose, a tiger, to the right – contours of the Peter and Paul Church, to the left – the inscription in two lines: "150 ЛЕТ" (150 YEARS), below at the rim – the inscription in two lines: "ЛЕНИНГРАДСКИЙ ЗООПАРК" (THE LENINGRAD ZOO).
