Obverse
In the centre – the emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, under it – the semicircular inscription «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim – on top: «ТРИ РУБЛЯ» (THREE RUBLES), below: to the left – indications of the precious metal and its fineness, in the centre – the year of issue «2007 г.» (2007), to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
In the foreground – the sculptural composition with the image of Minerva – the patroness of arts and workmanships – which decorates the cupola of the building of the Academy of Arts. To the right – the inscription in two lines: «ОCНОВАНА В 1757 г.» (FOUNDED IN 1757), in the background – the main building of the Academy of Arts; on top – the inscription along the rim: «РОССИЙСКАЯ АКАДЕМИЯ ХУДОЖЕСТВ» (THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS).
