The two-headed eagle designed by artist I. Bilibin. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «100 РУБЛЕЙ 1996 г.» (100 RUBLES 1996), at the bottom — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA). The letters below indicate the metal sign, the fineness, the fine metal content and the mint trademark.
Reverse
The first Russian battleship "Poltava", to the left - the central portal of the Admiralty, to the right - a portrait of Peter the Great and under it - the inscription in four lines "МОРСКИМ СУДАМ БЫТЬ ПЕТР I" (SEA-GOING SHIPS MUST BE. PETER I), below - a draft of a ship.
