Obverse

North America map showing the routes the butterflies follow in their migration. At top a hanging cocoon and at left a butterfly silhouette. At bottom a caterpillar and Michoacan State where they reside during winter. Mint mark at bottom-left and theme at right.

Includes a pendant with the shape and design of a monarch wing (Silver .999 with Gold .999 plating and a cut crystal insert).

Reverse

An adult butterfly as central theme standing on a pine branch, with dotted fields around. Date at bottom under UNESCO logo. With legend around. And on outer circle several butterflies flying.
