The reverse of the coin features an image of a pond turtle (Lith. balinis vėžlys) – an animal included in the Red Book of Lithuania. The turtle is surrounded by the inscriptions BALINIS VĖŽLYS, Emys orbicularis, the denomination (50 litas) and the mark of the designer (GK).
