The inner part of the coin has a design forming a cartographic likeness of the moon seen from Harmaja, Finland. On the top of the moon there is a crow sitting on a branch. The year of issuance ‘2017’ is placed at the center bottom. At the center left is the indication of the issuing country ‘FI’. The mint mark is placed center right.
The coin’s outer ring depicts the 12 stars of the European flag.
